Sony Style helps customers recycle

Sony Style recently launched Green Glove(SM) service — its newest program to help curb the amount of e-waste that enters the nation’s landfills.  Green Glove service takes the legwork out of recycling by offering people the opportunity to have their old televisions hauled away and responsibly recycled when they use this premier in-home delivery service when purchasing a 32 inch diagonal or larger new Sony(R) BRAVIA(R) LCD television at a Sony Style store or direct at sonystyle.com.  In addition to delivering, unpacking and setting up the new Sony BRAVIA television, Sony service professionals will pick up at the consumer’s request old televisions for proper recycling as part of its national Sony Take Back Recycling program in partnership with Waste Management Recycle America.  Typically, consumers who want to recycle their old TVs through the Sony Take Back program may drop off their electronics at a local Waste Management Recycle America drop off location ( www.sony.com/recycle for locations). With the new Green Glove Service, Sony is making it even more convenient to recycle responsibly.  “Sony is in the forefront of industry recycling efforts by providing consumers another way to conveniently and responsibly dispose of their old electronics,” said Mike Fasulo, Sony Electronics’ chief marketing officer and head of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. “By giving consumers the opportunity to do the right thing, without even leaving their homes, we are able to make a lasting impact on the state of our environment by responsibly recycling these materials.”

The Hondo Group adds green marketing services to offerings

The Hondo Group, a Fort Worth-based marketing communications company, has announced the introduction of green marketing services. The company has developed one of the first quantitative assessment tools for evaluating environmentally sound business practices.  Shana Barkley, account supervisor and digital marketing strategist for The Hondo Group, will oversee the green marketing initiatives while Shena Turlington, an environmental consultant, will begin implementing new eco-friendly business sustainability practices.  Turlington specializes in environmental design and sustainable business models, working with natural materials, renewable energy technologies and ecological design principles to improve interaction with the environment. She has served Fortune 500 Companies including Biotech firms and pharmaceutical companies such as Genentech, Pfizer and Amgen. She has also advised corporate greening strategies for clients including Audi and Volkswagen. Turlington currently manages the greening operations for large-scale events and focuses on creating new models for sustainable communities nationwide.  The Hondo Group’s research-driven sustainable business plan turns environmental consciousness into a formidable strategic move. With these green marketing services, Hondo can help clients not only systematically reduce their carbon footprint on the environment but also publicize their environmental stewardship efforts. By using a triple bottom-line approach: client’s energy costs plummet and vulnerability to price fluctuations decreases; their market insight deepens and their corporate reputation acquires esteem.  “The Hondo Group promotes an environmentally friendly culture within the office, so green consulting felt like a natural expansion of our services,” said Lynn Balinas, president. “As we expand our product offerings, we are confident these new services will complement our current capabilities and benefit clients and the agency as a whole.”
